The 2002-2003 Season finished with the 1st Team coming a credible 3rd place in the league narrowly missing out on the Runners up spot, securing a promotion place into the premier league next season. Santos came runners up to Queens, however Santos have now gone into the Amateur League, so North down took the 3rd spot with Castlereagh taking the runners up spot. The seconds however did not make as much an impact on the league coming last, but hope to make amends next season. A big thank you to all the Management team, Committee, Sponsors and back ground staff and of course all the players for a great season and not forgetting our Cheerleaders and fans who followed us to every game, thanks again girls and we hope to see you all next season.
The Castlereagh Colts that
never quite made it, Unfortunately This is the team that the Castlereagh Colts wished they could have week in week out, they represent the "No Hopers" the name given to them by the Manager ex-Dundela player Bryan McCarroll, who entered this team into the Civil Service Summer League, with 25 teams competing over 2 months and don't let the name fool you, they went on to win the competition beating Inland Revenue 3-0 in the Final. It was a great experience for two current Castlereagh Colts players Sean McComb & Gary Hassan, "to have played in this team and alongside some very talented players was different and made the game a lot more enjoyable, maybe some luck will rub off the shirts for next season." Gary & Sean now being headhunted by the Big Leagues! |
